Ceramic design studio exploring functional objects as emotional presences.

Defined by material honesty, emotional architecture, and a sculptural, organic language, lauri. pieces are first and foremost anchors for presence - both companions and mirrors of inner life.

Philosophy

lauri. is a ceramic design studio where material, form, and perception converge in an organic, sculptural language.

Founded by Laura Berezitchei and informed by her background in psychology, the studio explores functional objects as emotional presences - subtle forms that shape atmosphere and human experience.

Working with matter in its most honest state, lauri. creates functional art pieces guided by biophilic sensibility and neuroaesthetic awareness - objects conceived to support peripheral calm, sensory grounding, and acts of centering, allowing function and feeling to coexist.

The studio’s practice, rooted in hand-building and shaping organic forms that grow naturally rather than follow rigid design structures, unfolds through distinct collections of functional art - ranging from sculptural lighting to organic furniture and urban elements.

Produced in one offs or small series and grounded in craftsmanship and natural materials, the works are designed to be versatile and enduring - intended to live across contexts and time, resisting overconsumption through quiet permanence.

Across private, public, and hybrid environments, lauri. operates as a subtle spatial anchor - softening architectural intensity, enhancing atmosphere, and contributing a quiet, humanizing presence while preserving architectural clarity.

Defined by material honesty, emotional architecture, and a sculptural, organic language, lauri. brings functional art that exists gently within space - present, supportive, and enduring.

A glance inside current collection

A quiet light.

A grounding form.

A presence you live with.

lauri. - quiet series is part of an ongoing exploration of how objects influence inner life through material, form, and light.

A collection of sculptural objects with light core, conceived as living presences — companions to inner rhythm, perception, and pause.

Objects that do not just soften and decorate space, but regulate how it is felt.

Rooted in biophilic principles and neuroaesthetic awareness, the collection responds to an increasing need for interiors that support sensory balance and emotional regulation.

By positioning matter and light as emotional architecture rather than purely functional art, the collection contributes to a broader conversation about objects as active participants in wellbeing.

Matter

Matter left in its most honest state. Because the body recognizes what is real.

Exposed in its raw, most honest state, matter is recognized by the body as authentic, supporting parasympathetic activation, reducing stress, and fostering sensory grounding, emotional regulation, and a sense of calm.

The clay remains visibly imperfect, preserving traces of the hand and giving each object an individual, unrepeatable identity.

It isn't a style choice. It's what happens when you don't interfere more than necessary.

Light

Light is not added. Is revealed. As the very essence of form.

Light is treated as a natural phenomenon unfolding from matter, almost like an internal fire, generating an atmosphere that feels stable, warm, and deeply grounded, a peace that sits at the edges of perception.

These bodies of work were created with light already inside. A light source was placed within the raw clay and each form arrived directed by it.
The light didn't come after, it was there from the beginning.
A presence inside the making.

In space

Designed to regulate, soften, and harmonise space.

Going beyond passive decoration, lauri. - quiet series pieces are conceived as sculptural presences that integrate into contemporary spaces as stabilizing elements — anchoring a room without altering its character. Through their organic silhouettes and tactile materiality, these bodies of work can function as an active design intervention, introducing a calm counterpoint to interiors shaped by concrete, metal, and sharp geometry.

Offering architects and designers a versatile language for integrating functional art that supports human experience while maintaining architectural clarity.

In hospitality and cultural contexts, the objects contribute to mood-making and spatial rhythm; in corporate and executive environments, they introduce calm authority and tactile grounding; in retail spaces, they encourage slow experiences, sensory connection, and lingering; in private interiors, they support daily rituals and moments of centering.

A note on Presence

My goal is not to fill a space, but to design objects as both presences and anchors for presence - shaping how a space is felt, and how we feel within it.

Each piece is meant to be felt before it is understood.

- Laura Berezitchei

Beyond their aesthetics and functionality, lauri. pieces are first and foremost anchors for presence - companions of inner life, designed for equilibrium and the senses.

They are less about display and more about alignment - organic presences that subtly influence the rhythm, perception, and atmosphere of a space, bringing the nervous system back to equilibrium while remaining fully immersed in contemporary culture.

It’s not about decoration or bold statements; it’s about a state of being.
